The home theater system project includes the installation of a wall mounted 70″ 4K SONY XBR, a definitive technology sound bar and an in-wall sub-woofer. Cables also had to be run from these equipment, through the walls of the house to the basement where an AV rack was placed.
There was no need to rip apart walls to run the cables. Several small holes, cut into the wall were good enough. It is also easier and cheaper to patch up holes instead of replacing an entire wall that has been torn down.
After the holes were made, the installer ran the cables through them. These are the cables which will run all the way down to the basement where the home theater AV rack is waiting.
This is the wall after the holes were patched up. As you can see, they are not noticeable at all. The whole wall was repainted from top to bottom to ensure that there is no color differentiation which might interfere with the decor.

After mounting the television, our technicians are taking measurements for the installation of a definitive technology sound bar.
This is a precut hole where the in wall sub-woofer will be installed. It has been cut careful to ensure that it is a perfect fit for the in-wall subwoofer instalaltion.
The Trunami in-wall subwoofer after it has been fitted into the precut hole. It saves a lot of space and even better, the paintable grill ensures that it fits right in with the rest of the decor.
The in-wall subwoofer after the gril has been painted to ensure continuity with the wall color. The painting does not affect the sound quality at all.
Cables running from the television and the audio equipment ends up in the basement. Here they will be connected to other equipment placed in an AV rack
The AV rack with equipment well organized. It is important to have a rack that can adequately support the weight of the equipment. A view of the AV rack from the rear. You can see the wires running in and out of various equipment.
The equipment on the rack include:
- Sony 4K receiver
- SONOS AMP
- SONOS CONNECT wireless receiver
- PANAMAX power filter is also included. This protects the equipment from any damage in case of electrical fluctuations.
To enable the owner to control the equipment remotely`using a universal remote control, an MREF 350 Radio Frequency Signal Receiver was used.
All equipment are in place and all cable connections completed. Everything is working perfectly. Notice that an Apple Router is placed on top of the rack. In this position, instead of inside the rack’s shelves, the signal will be strong throughout the whole house.
This is the finished project and you’ve got to admire the completed look. Everything looks sleek and neat with all the wires out of sight and any installation messes cleared up. The television picture quality is excellent and you can bet the sound is as well.
