Some projects require mid-stream corrections once we’ve done our free on-site consultation and prepared a cost estimate, and Brian’s New York home theater installation was one of them. He had found us thanks to our recommendations and reviews on Angie’s List; after we put together a plan of action for his desired home theater and satellite TV/speaker installations, some changes had to be made due to suggestions and requests from his interior designer, as well as budget constraints.
We were happy to alter the proposal until everyone was satisfied (Brian was particularly satisfied with the 20% he saved on equipment purchases, since as authorized dealers we are able to supply it at deep discounts), and we got down to business.
First up was the living room’s home theater, which we built around an ultra-slim 55-inch Samsung UN55JU9000 4K Ultra HD television with a bright, crisp display, along with an AppleTV unit and a Blu-ray player.
Video and audio were powered by a 7.2-channel 4K Denon AVR-X3100W home theater receiver with full connectivity, utilizing Polk 90-RT 3-way speakers in the ceiling and a powerful Definitive Technology IWSub 10/10 passive in-wall subwoofer. All of the speakers are very low profile, barely even distinguishable in the lovely and comfortable living room. All components were connected with Monster 4H HDMI cables and full-copper, oxygen-free speaker cable for optimal video and audio performance. The home theater installation was finished with an APC power filter and surge protector, with the whole system managed by a URC MRX-10 advanced network system controller and TRC-1080 universal remote control.
We didn’t forget about the rest of the house, which received a whole-home audio system. High-quality sound is delivered from the home theater receiver to the master bedroom and guest bedrooms via wireless Sonos PLAY:5 and PLAY:3 smart speakers, and to the dining room, kitchen and all three bathrooms via in-ceiling speakers from Niles Audio and Polk Audio powered by Sonos amplifiers.
In addition we mounted Vizio screen using special ceiling bracket with a cable management to conceal wires inside the wall.
The complete project came in on-time and on-budget, at a price of $19,800 and all work finished in four days. Brian was delighted he’d found us because of our impressive ratings on Angie’s List, and even more delighted with the finished product.
