Lutron Motorized Shade Installation
After considering several options the client asked us to install Lutron Sivoia QS wireless shading system, which combines beauty and reliability and is also scalable for future expansion if desired.
What makes the Sivoia QS Shading System so unique is that in addition to being remotely controlled, the shades are powered by internal batteries. That makes the entire system completely wireless with nothing to connect externally. It’s the ideal solution for a beautiful upscale home, because there are no wires or plugs to hide and nothing to interrupt the visual flow of the décor. And the shading system fully integrates with the Lutron lighting control system we also installed.
Our shades installers programmed the shades to automatically move to preset heights during the day, and installed occupancy/vacancy sensors which trigger the shades to open or close depending on whether the rooms are occupied.
Lutron Lighting Control Installation
Lutron’s Radio RA2 lighting control system was the perfect choice for this beautiful home, not only because it works hand-in-hand with the client’s new shading system, but because it can integrate seamlessly with Lutron temperature control systems for total smart home operations. Among the many benefits: the system can shut off standby power to smaller appliances when they’re not in use to save energy.
The RA2’s main repeater allows the client to control both his lighting and shading system on his smartphone or tablet from anywhere in the world, through the free Lutron app. We also provided and programmed a Pico remote for that same universal control throughout his home.
DTV Installations is a strong believer in the Radio RA2 personalized smart lighting/shade control system because it fits virtually any home and any budget, while providing complete control of a smart home from any location. We felt it was the perfect way to round out this project, which was completed on budget and in less than one week, and totally satisfied the client’s expectations.
Home Theater Video Installation and Remote Control Programming
We chose and hung Sony Bravia 65-inch 4K OLED HDTV for the home theater installation, because of its ultimate video quality and its slim design which fits almost flush against the wall. Components were connected with state-of-the-art fiber optic HDMI cabling, to ensure the highest-quality video quality possible.
A second Sony 65-inch 4K OLED monitor was hung in the client’s master bedroom along with a Sonos playbar, to complete the video installation.
DTV Installations NY based company also set up and fully programmed URC TRC-1080 universal remote controls, as well as Sonos remote controls, for the complete system including the home theater and master bedroom.
Whole-Home Audio Setup
Our A/V technicians completed wiring for the installation in two days, with much of that work involving the creation of a fabulous audio system for the home. We created six separate listening zones, all able to receive different high-resolution audio programming streamed via WiFi. The audio is controlled by a Sonos Wireless Music System, complete with a Sonos wall-mounted powered soundbar and Sonos wireless subwoofer.
The system utilizes Monitor Audio CSS230 shallow in-ceiling speakers to blend with the condo’s stunning contemporary décor. They complete a realistic 5.1 surround sound experience for the home theater, and deliver high-quality music and other audio programming throughout the home.

That’s why we were so excited when a client on the Upper East Side called us to discuss the creation of a home theater and whole-home audio system, complete with smart lighting and window shades, for his luxury condo.
DTV Installations owner John Lysy met on-site with the client and his designer to discuss a range of options which would meet the client’s needs, desires and budget. The same day, we sent the client a complete proposal plus fabric samples for Lutron’s high-end motorized shades. A short time later, we agreed on a plan, price and time frame, and went to work.
