A New York warehouse was trying to get by with a sadly-outdated Internet system, until the owners called DTV Installations to upgrade their connectivity. We were able to provide them with a modern wired and wireless network able to handle the demands of their business, both inside and outside of the warehouse.
Our work began by running nearly 2000 feet of shielded Category 6 550 MHz cable, which can handle the demands of a 10-Gigabit Ethernet system. We then installed four Cisco wireless access points at strategic points throughout the inside of the building, and two more outdoors. For the indoor WAPs we used Cisco Aironet 1240AG Series IEEE 802.11a/b/g units; they are specifically meant to withstand the challenges of warehouses and other large buildings where radio-frequency interference and wide variations of temperatures can be a problem.
