A client with a beautiful apartment in the Tribeca section of New York City was ready to upgrade his home audio and video system with Monitor Audio in-wall speakers and living room home theater. He found DTV Installations online and contacted us through our website for free consultation.
The client was interested in a high-end, remotely-controlled sound system with multiple zones of audio speakers to deliver quality sound to his living room theater as well as the kitchen, dining room, master bedroom and bath. Additionally, he had a 4K Smart TV which he wanted to mount to the wall in the living room to interface with the audio system.
Our New York audio system installer visited the site for a full inspection, prepared a comprehensive proposal and estimate – and after the client’s acceptance, we went to work.
In Wall Monitor Audio Speakers for Home Theater
In choosing speakers for this Manhattan project, we focused on low-profile, Monitor Audio in-wall speakers because of the need to conserve space.
Two luxury, compact Monitor Audio CP-IW260X in-wall speakers along with a W250-LCR center speaker, all mounted in the front wall of the living room, deliver the highest level of audio performance possible. They were supplemented a Black Oak Vinyl W10 Subwoofer and CP-WT380IDC three-way audio speakers to complete the surround-sound experience. Installed together and fully calibrated by our experienced DTV professionals, this Monitor system provides an unequaled level of home theater sound.
The installation was completed when we hung the client’s 4K Smart HDTV, with one of our electricians installing an electrical outlet and moldings to hide wires running to the TV and the AV closet, and all remote controls were programmed to meet the client’s needs.
Whole Home Wireless Audio
DTV Installations team provided audio to the other rooms in the apartment by installing Denon HEOS HS2 high-resolution audio amplifiers in the kitchen and dining room; these amps deliver 100 watts of superior sound per channel. Wireless, in-ceiling Monitor Audio CT280-IDC 3-way speakers were placed in all of the rooms so high-quality music can be enjoyed throughout the apartment.
Audio / Video Equipment Closet
Space was at a premium for this New York installation, so we installed the core equipment in an AV closet. That included the centerpiece of the audio system, a Marantz SR7013 9.2-channel home theater receiver which is compatible with Wi-Fi, Apple AirPlay 2, and Amazon Alexa. This surround-sound powerhouse can handle Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, DTS Virtual:X and Auro-3D for crisp, dynamic sound.
An MRX-10 Advanced Network Controller was installed as well, to handle network and control functions for whole-home automation including the full-featured, URC TRC-1080 Wi-Fi remote controls used throughout the apartment.
Internet Connectivity
Using so many wireless components requires flawless whole-home connectivity, so we installed a new Luxul XAP-1510 Dual-Band Wireless Access Point and a Luxul XWR-3100 Dual-Band Router. This high-power system provides completely reliable data transfer up to 1900Mbps, allowing the speakers to function glitch-free.
The client was delighted with our work, which took just three days to complete – and he didn’t just tell us how happy he was. He also gave us five-star reviews on Yelp and Google!
